I was just sending out invitations for the last TYPO3 Workshop this year. And I don't want to miss the chance also to invite you... the snowBlog readers.

Workshop
Our guest and speaker is André Oechslin. He is template developer and frontend engineer at snowflake in Switzerland. He will speak about his experience with templating and TYPO3:
a) how to transfer an existing static html site into TYPO3
b) create a TYPO3 template and give some best practice tips
After the workshop, we will have time for discussions during the X-mas party.

We were just mentioned on a newsletter from JETRO (Japan External Trade Orgnization). The November issue of "Success in Region" showed the following article about snowflake:

* Leading TYPO3 Developer, snowflake Productions, Establishes Japan Arm

Switzerland-based snowflake productions GmbH, a leading content management system (CMS) and open source(*) software developer, established its first overseas subsidiary, snowflake Co., Ltd., in Chiba, Japan in April 2009, and started full-scale operations from  this fall. The company is a pioneer in TYPO3, a major CMS for enterprise users mainly in Europe, and snowflake staff co-founded (and serve on the board of) the TYPO3 Association, also based in Switzerland. Founded by a Danish developer in 1997, TYPO3 is an open source software (OSS). TYPO3 is one of the world's most widely used open  source CMS solutions.

To penetrate the Japan market, where use of TYPO3 is still relatively low, the firm took part in CEATEC Japan, one of the country's largest  IT events, for three straight years. Through its new Japan subsidiary, snowflake hopes to close this gap by offering website creation, software development as well as support and training, based on its abundant  experience gained in Europe. For the first step, Snowflake starts with  the launch of TYPO3 academy in December 2009 and offers training programs for end users.
